TeraWulf targets 2029 for Muskie’s second power phase

The revised Kentucky Power timetable depends on regulatory approval and utility construction.

Listen to this article

TeraWulf announced on October 5 that Muskie’s second 500 MW power phase is now planned for 2029, a year earlier than previously targeted. The eastern Kentucky campus is being developed for AI and computing workloads.

Approval and construction still matter

The schedule depends on approval from Kentucky’s Public Service Commission and the timing of utility construction. TeraWulf still expects the initial 500 MW to start ramping in 2028.

The amended utility agreements were signed on October 1. Earlier disclosures already described gigawatt scale plans for Muskie. The fresh announcement concerns the revised agreement and delivery schedule.

Power planning also underpins Amazon’s Calvert Cliffs nuclear agreement, which ByteForward previously covered.
