Norway plans temporary limits on AI glasses in selected places
The government intends to bring a bill to parliament while studying which devices and locations it should cover.

Norwayโs government said on October 5 that it plans to propose a temporary ban on using AI glasses in selected locations. It will bring a bill to parliament as soon as possible, according to the official statement.
Possible settings include schools, healthcare facilities, parks and public events. The government has not finalized the venues or defined whether it would cover camera glasses alone, glasses with AI features or other wearable devices.
Scope remains undecided
The plan would allow exceptions for vulnerable groups and limited socially useful applications. An expert group will advise on lasting regulation. The announcement does not put a ban into effect.
Earlier August guidance had called for tougher regulation and workplace rules.
