LG and AIR announce AI data center cooling supply agreement

The multiyear agreement covers North American projects, with delivery dates and contract value undisclosed.

Listen to this article

LG Electronics USA and AIR Control Concepts announced a multiyear chiller supply agreement on October 5. The companies say it covers AI data center projects with more than 5 GW of capacity in the United States and Canada.

Contract value, equipment quantities, named customers and delivery dates were not disclosed. Project capacity does not establish completed installations.

Performance and timing

LG’s roughly 30 percent annual energy saving claim compares refrigerant and waterside free cooling in a company simulation of one 1,750 kW unit under Seoul weather at full load. The announcement gives no measured results from AIR projects.

LG separately announced a new Virginia factory on October 1, with production planned for the first half of 2027 and expansions in South Korea. That timetable does not specify AIR delivery dates.
