Mistlabs discloses $26 million for Ambi as mobile availability remains unclear

Listen to this article

Mistlabs announced on October 12 that it has raised $26 million in Pre A funding led by Luminous Ventures and Huaqin, alongside a launch announcement for its Ambi assistant. The company release describes the financing as already raised. It does not identify a closing date or valuation.

The announcement presents Ambi as leaving beta on Apple devices. Its public website gives a more qualified picture of access, with desktop download links and mobile versions still listed as forthcoming.

Ambi aims to turn conversations into continuing work. Its features page describes memory across conversations, individual tasks and recurring routines that carry a standing brief forward. Those are company descriptions. This report has not tested the apps or their performance.

What can be downloaded

When checked early on October 13 UTC, the official download page offered links for Macs with Apple silicon and Windows 11 computers using x64 processors. It explicitly excluded Intel Macs. The same page described iOS and Android versions as coming later and provided no App Store link for an iPhone or Apple Watch app.

That leaves the release’s broad Apple availability claim unresolved. A desktop download link also does not establish whether every applicant can complete signup or access every advertised feature. The homepage continues to direct visitors to an early access waitlist.

What remains after listening ends

Ambi’s privacy notice separates live Listening from deliberately saved Recording. It says Listening audio is streamed to Soniox for transcription and deleted when the session ends unless saved through Recording. Saved recordings remain until the user deletes them or the account.

Transcripts, summaries and Memory generally stay while the account is active unless deleted earlier. For someone discussing a client project, deleting the original audio therefore does not automatically remove the written account or the context extracted from it.

The notice identifies outside AI providers including OpenAI, Anthropic and Google. Ambi’s trust page says retained data is encrypted on US servers and listening is controlled by the user. These are stated policies, not independent verification of its security. Our Muse Wonder access guide explains how subscription and API data settings differ.

The cost of continuing context

The pricing page describes a seven day trial with 4,000 Credits and no automatic paid conversion. Paid plans share Credits across AI listening, tasks and other features, with allowances resetting weekly. Features that consume Credits pause when the balance runs out.

Exact paid prices could not be verified because the retrieved page showed a loading error. Anyone evaluating Ambi should confirm the price, device access and retention controls before relying on it for routine work conversations.
