Boston Dynamics names former Amazon AI leader Rohit Prasad as CEO

Rohit Prasad became chief executive of Boston Dynamics on October 7, following an announcement the previous day. He previously led Alexa and artificial general intelligence work at Amazon, including the Nova model family.
Boston Dynamics says his appointment will accelerate its Physical AI strategy and the commercialization of intelligent robots. The announcement does not describe a replacement of existing robot controls with an entirely new neural architecture.
The company’s portfolio includes Spot for inspection, Stretch for logistics and the electric Atlas humanoid. Prasad is also expected to join its board, subject to approval.
