SignSplit announces $400 million commitment for data licensing
SignSplit says W Group backing combines capital and strategic resources for a consented data platform.

SignSplit announced a $400 million financing commitment from W Group on October 5 for its platform connecting human data contributors with AI developers and researchers.
The company says the agreement values it at $1 billion and combines capital with strategic resources provided over several years. It does not disclose the cash portion or financing instrument.
Its proposed data and research pools connect buyers with contributions made under defined consent and payment terms. A verification layer is intended to attach provenance and permissions to data, creative work and likenesses.
The approach addresses the compensation questions behind wider AI licensing debates. The announcement establishes the companyโs plans and stated commitment, without demonstrating adoption or contributor earnings.
