Volvo and Waabi begin freight operations for Warp in Texas
Their first joint customer operation carries freight between Dallas and Houston with an observer in the driver’s seat.

Volvo Autonomous Solutions and Waabi announced on October 5 that their partnership has begun transporting freight for Warp in Texas. Volvo’s statement calls it their first joint customer operation.
The Volvo VNL Autonomous uses the Waabi Driver to move goods between Dallas and Houston, including deliveries to third party facilities. An observer remains in the driver’s seat.
A new customer milestone
Warp combines smaller shipments and full truckloads within one freight network. The announcement does not give the first haul date, fleet size or a schedule for removing onboard observers.
Waabi had already described commercial freight on this corridor in September. The new announcement concerns Warp’s use of the joint service.
ByteForward also covered research on the costs of physical automation.
