What ZCode and Freebuff offer users trying GLM and DeepSeek models

Two days after GLM-5.3 launched, ZCode offered qualifying users up to 100 million free tokens. Freebuff is separately letting people try DeepSeek V4 Flash and V4 Pro without burning their own API key. Both deals are capacity-limited.

A new model is one story. A weekend of free tokens is how most people actually touch it. After Z.ai launched GLM-5.3, ZCode posted a promotion that qualifying users could redeem up to 100 million free GLM-5.3 tokens.

The ZCode catch

Demand immediately outran the grant. A follow-up from ZCode said new 100M grants were paused after capacity filled, while the ordinary new-user free-token bucket stayed up. That is the honest status: the giant pile was real, then it was rationed. Check the live offer before you plan a weekend of agent runs around it.

ZCode is the easy on-ramp, not the official weights. GLM-5.3’s open dump is still dated two weeks after launch on Z.ai’s blog. Until that file appears, free tokens are rented access.

DeepSeek V4 without an API bill

The other door is Freebuff. DeepSeek posted V4 Flash and then V4 Pro 0813. Freebuff’s operator said Flash was available there for free, and the same front now lists V4 Pro as well. Region locks and model rotation are part of the product. If a SKU vanishes tomorrow, that is the deal, not a bug.

Why the free window matters

Frontier coding models are getting good enough that the bottleneck is no longer “can I see a demo.” It is “can I burn enough tokens to find out whether it survives my repo.” A 100M grant, even a short one, is enough to answer that. A free DeepSeek V4 Pro lane is enough to compare it with GLM on the same messy job instead of on a vendor chart.

Analysis: these are not pricing policies. They are launch-week loss leaders with a kill switch. Use them to test GLM-5.3 and DeepSeek V4 Pro on one real task while the tokens last. Do not build a production agent on a promotion that already paused once under load.
