Google App Topology reaches GA with custom agent queries
Google Cloud makes its agent topology API generally available with a custom query builder. Supported resources, security data limits and upcoming billing matter.

Google Cloud made the App Topology API generally available in Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform on September 30. Its release announcement also introduces a customizable query builder and a streamlined view of traffic immediately connected to an individual agent in Agent Registry.
The changes give operators more ways to investigate how deployed agents relate to infrastructure, identities and security findings. That becomes useful when a team needs to understand which agent depends on a resource before changing it.
Build a map around a specific question
The project topology guide explains how users can edit suggested queries or build their own. Queries combine resources, filters and relationships. The builder offers connections appropriate to the selected resource, and results containing supported resources can be displayed as a graph.
A team could use this view to find registered agents associated with a particular vulnerability or investigate infrastructure dependencies. Nodes and connecting lines can be selected for more information. Queries returning only values such as counts do not produce a topology graph.
The narrower Agent Registry view focuses on traffic to and from a chosen agent or AI application. Its setup requires registered resources, application instrumentation for traffic data, enabled APIs and the appropriate viewing permissions.
General availability retains important limits
Google’s topology overview says latency and error information covers the latest hour, with no adjustable time range. Results depend on supported deployments and resource classification. Tools, models and Workspace Agents are excluded. Registered MCP servers classified as shared resources can appear without connection edges.
Security Command Center data remains in Preview within these graphs. It requires a Google Cloud organization, and the project guide specifies Premium or Enterprise tiers for querying that data. General availability of the API therefore leaves meaningful differences in what each project can show.
Usage billing begins later in October
The published pricing schedule starts usage billing on October 15. Each project receives a daily allowance of 100 queries and 15,000 graph nodes. Additional usage costs $0.01 per query and $0.00075 per node. The schedule applies across App Topology usage in Agent Platform, Cloud Hub and Cloud Monitoring.
For operators, the practical first step is to check which resources and source services will actually contribute data. A useful dependency map needs that coverage to match the system being investigated. ByteForward has not independently tested the product.
