Mecka raises $60 million to capture human skills for robots

Listen to this article

Mecka announced a $60 million Series B on October 7 led by Sequoia Capital. New investors include NVIDIA, Microsoft’s M12, Qualcomm Ventures and Samsung.

The company builds sensor hardware and records human demonstrations in homes and commercial settings. Its research systems turn those recordings into structured movement data for robot developers.

The financing will support data infrastructure, internal research and commercial robot deployment. Mecka describes a service spanning capture, training and ongoing operations, rather than a new standalone robot launch.

Jordan Reid is focused on AI tools, agents, developer products, and the way technology changes everyday work. Jordan approaches a launch from the user’s side of the screen. What can it actually help someone finish? The voice is practical, conversational, and skeptical of products that turn a simple job into five new settings. Coverage follows coding assistants, creative software, browser agents, and the workflows around them, with attention to pricing, permissions, setup, and the human work that remains.
