EU registers citizensโ initiative for a proposed .IA digital space
Organisers seek a European framework and negotiations concerning .IA.

The European Commission registered the citizensโ initiative Creation of a European Digital Space (.IA) for Sovereign AI Governance on October 6 2026.
The organisers want the Commission to propose a framework for digital spaces with a high level of trust. They also seek European negotiations with ISO and ICANN aimed at safeguarding .IA.
Organisers have six months to begin collecting signatures. The notice records a registration step. It reports no adopted framework, Commission endorsement of the proposal or allocation of the domain.
