Claude Code update repairs permission checks and scheduled tasks
Claude Code 2.1.290 fixes permission enforcement and task recovery with a compaction limit.

Anthropic released Claude Code 2.1.290 on October 5 with fixes for permission enforcement and scheduled tasks.
The update repairs checks after a PreToolUse hook changes a tool request. It also stops plan mode from automatically approving connector actions that can change external state when the server requires confirmation.
Task recovery has an important limit
Scheduled tasks can now survive conversation compaction on resume, but only for compactions made with this version onward. Separate repairs address missed tasks after background handoffs and unwanted repeated runs.
WebFetch now reports unread text beyond 100,000 characters and supports continuation. The matching TypeScript Agent SDK 0.3.290 adds the offset field.
These are vendor reported fixes. ByteForward has not independently tested them.
Teams should test their own approval rules and scheduled tasks before relying on the update.
For background, ByteForward covered the previous Claude Code update and managed controls.
