Instagram expands Edits Assistant to US creators

The assistant reads Instagram account metrics to suggest content ideas with a daily usage limit

Listen to this article

Instagram began rolling out Edits Assistant on September 30 to everyone using Edits in the US. The wider release follows months of testing with a creator council.

Account data informs the suggestions

The assistant combines follows, views, retention, likes and shares with comments and Instagram trends. It can suggest video concepts, hooks, captions and audio based on a creatorโ€™s past performance.

Free access has a limit

Users open it through the chat icon in Edits. The feature is free with a daily prompt cap, which the announcement does not quantify. Higher usage through Meta One is described as coming soon.

Treat patterns as questions

Ask which posts support a suggestion and compare their context before changing your next video. Audience size, timing and subject matter can vary between posts. An explanation of why a Reel performed well is a hypothesis to test against the underlying numbers.

Instagramโ€™s examples describe selected creator experiences. This report does not include an independent product test.

What can it actually help someone finish? The voice is practical, conversational, and skeptical of products that turn a simple job into five new settings. Coverage follows coding assistants, creative software, browser agents, and the workflows around them, with attention to pricing, permissions, setup, and the human work that remains.
