Google proposes contextual privacy checks for AI agents

A new workshop report examines how agents should handle changing tasks and data sharing.

Google Research published a workshop report on October 5 about privacy and security for autonomous AI agents. It asks how agents should decide which information is appropriate to share as tasks and recipients change.

The researchers propose a contextual policy engine that checks intended actions before data leaves a user’s workspace. Their example is travel planning, where booking a flight and contacting an organizer call for different information.

The report also calls for testing agents together over longer periods, along with safeguards for delegation and changing permissions. These are research directions. The announcement does not establish that the proposed architecture is deployed in Gemini Enterprise.
