Wandercraft announced on October 1 that it acquired Ekso Bionics from a subsidiary of ChronoScale Holdings. The purchase adds Eksoโ€™s devices and US customer relationships to Wandercraftโ€™s medical robotics operations.

The companies signed and closed the transaction simultaneously after unanimous approval from the Wandercraft and ChronoScale boards. Financial terms were not disclosed in the announcement.

Four products under one owner

The portfolio includes Atalante X and EksoNR for rehabilitation, alongside Eve and Indego Personal for personal use. Wandercraft says it intends to keep supporting all four products and their customers. Rehabilitation centers can consult specialists familiar with both rehabilitation platforms while retaining dedicated support for each product, according to the company.

Wandercraft says Atalante X and EksoNR are used across more than 700 rehabilitation centers worldwide. It pairs its reach in Europe, the Middle East and Africa with Eksoโ€™s US presence.

ChronoScale focuses on AI infrastructure

For seller ChronoScale, the transaction completes a move away from medical robotics. In its own October 1 announcement, the company said the disposal would let it concentrate management attention and capital on accelerated computing and AI infrastructure.

ChronoScale was formed by combining Applied Digitalโ€™s cloud business with Ekso Bionics Holdings. It now describes its business as GPU infrastructure for AI training, inference and high performance computing. The exoskeleton sale separates those computing operations from the medical robotics business acquired by Wandercraft.

The purchase follows Eveโ€™s launch

Wandercraft had announced Eveโ€™s US commercial launch on September 17. Its launch release describes a device that maintains its own balance, leaving hands free during upright movement. The company says its physical AI technology supplies that balancing capability.

The launch announcement named National Seating & Mobility as Eveโ€™s distribution partner, with a network of more than 180 locations. Wandercraft also described a rollout that includes clinical evaluation, individual fitting and training before delivery, followed by ongoing support.
