Cookie Policy

How ByteForward uses cookies and related browser technologies, including optional Leaks reaction storage.

Last updated October 7, 2026.

ByteForward is managed by XLT Media Group, a trade name of Altstead LLC. In this policy, ByteForward, we, us and our refer to Altstead LLC in connection with its operation of ByteForward through XLT Media Group.

This Cookie Policy explains cookies and related browser features used on ByteForward. It should be read with the Privacy Policy. Questions can be sent to [email protected].

What cookies do

A cookie is a small value stored by your browser. It can help a website remember a choice or recognize a browser on a later visit. Some website features also use information held temporarily in a page or other browser storage. These technologies do not all work in the same way, and a browser storage setting is separate from information already held by the website.

Leaks reaction keys

The Leaks page saves submitted reactions to the website and uses a randomly generated browser key to let you change or remove your choices. New keys are held in memory for the current page visit. The current feature does not create reaction cookies or save new keys in browser storage.

If you previously chose to remember reactions, an existing cookie named bf_leaks_reactions_v2 may still hold your key. That cookie is limited to the Leaks path and was set to expire 90 days after its last save. The current feature can use it until its original expiry or removal through your browser, but does not extend its expiry.

Select a highlighted reaction again to remove that choice from the shared totals. Without a saved key, reloading or closing the page loses access to the choices made during that visit. Removing a cookie or losing a key does not delete submitted reactions. The feature cannot locate reactions associated with a key your browser has already forgotten. If you want to remove reactions linked to an existing cookie, remove each highlighted choice before deleting the cookie.

Comment form preferences

Where a comment form offers to save your name, email address and website in your browser, selecting that option lets WordPress store comment preference cookies. Those cookies fill in the details on a later visit. You can leave the option unselected or remove the cookies through your browser settings. Removing these cookies does not delete a comment or the information already submitted with it.

Sign in and administrative features

People who sign in to a WordPress account may encounter additional cookies for authentication and administrative preferences. These features are separate from ordinary public reading and from previously saved Leaks reaction cookies.

Embedded videos and profiles

Pages containing YouTube players can connect your browser to Google services. Those services may use cookies or similar technologies according to their settings and policies. Google explains its practices at https://policies.google.com/privacy.

Gravatar profile features can request content from Automattic. Automattic explains the information it receives and its use of cookies at https://automattic.com/privacy/. The behaviour of external services can vary with your browser, account settings and the feature you use.

Performance measurement

ByteForward uses Speed of Light to measure page loading and interaction performance. Its website script sends the page URL, navigation type, device classification, performance measurements, relevant page element identifiers and a randomly generated sample identifier to a ByteForward endpoint. This measurement is separate from Leaks reactions. See the Privacy Policy for more information.

Managing your choices

You can use your browserโ€™s settings to inspect, block or remove cookies and other site data, including an earlier Leaks reaction cookie. The available settings and their effect depend on the browser. Blocking storage may prevent a feature from remembering your choices.

A browser control does not necessarily stop every network request, embedded service or form submission. Removing a cookie does not itself delete information already sent to ByteForward or another service. Choices on an external service are managed through that serviceโ€™s controls.

This policy provides information about these technologies. Reading it or continuing to browse does not itself constitute consent to technologies for which consent is required by applicable law.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy when website features or storage practices change. For questions about the cookies or information described here, contact [email protected].
