Reflection previews Beam with open weights planned this month

Early access is limited while Reflection completes safety evaluations.

Listen to this article

Reflection announced Beam on October 5, describing a model for coding, reasoning and agentic work with 501 billion total parameters and 23 billion active parameters.

The company says a select group can use an early version and others can join a waitlist. Final safety evaluations are ongoing. It plans to release Apache 2.0 weights, a technical report and model card later this month.

What developers can see

Reflectionโ€™s beta documentation lists a 256K context window and 128K maximum output, alongside reasoning, tool calling and structured outputs. These published specifications do not establish unrestricted access.
