Grok 4.7 appears in Expert and Heavy app screenshots

Original October 1 screenshots show Grok 4.7 labels in two consumer app modes, while plan eligibility and wider access remain unconfirmed.

Listen to this article

Grok 4.7 has appeared in consumer app screenshots shared by two observers. LuminaBenchโ€™s October 1 post shows Expert mode with a tooltip naming Grok 4.7. A TestingCatalog post that evening shows the same model name beside Heavy mode.

ByteForward inspected the original images and their public post timestamps. They provide evidence of the displayed model labels in those reported interfaces. They do not establish which subscriptions, regions or app versions have access, or whether a wider rollout has finished.

Two labels with different limits

LuminaBench published the first screenshot at 18.29 UTC on October 1. Expert is selected in a menu that also includes Auto, Fast, Build and Heavy. A tooltip next to Expert identifies Grok 4.7. The image does not expose the model behind the other menu choices.

TestingCatalogโ€™s post followed at 18.36 UTC. Its original desktop screenshot shows a tooltip beside Heavy identifying Grok 4.7 and describing a team of experts. The account also reported a rollout across web and mobile and all modes, but those broader claims go beyond what the attached image demonstrates.

The two reports are related. TestingCatalog quotes the LuminaBench post while attaching a different screenshot. They should therefore be read as two visible interface observations, rather than two fully independent confirmations of every part of the claimed rollout.

The underlying model launched earlier

SpaceXAIโ€™s Grok 4.7 announcement is dated September 21. It introduced the model through Cursor, Grok Build, the API and other developer access routes. The October screenshots concern its appearance in a consumer interface. They do not establish a new model release.

The official developer release notes distinguish the standard API model from Grok 4.7 Fast, which is offered through Cursor and Grok Build. A consumer menu item named Fast cannot be assumed to use that specific developer offering merely because the names overlap.

This is also separate from Google Cloudโ€™s Grok 4.7 Model Garden preview, previously covered by ByteForward. That September 30 addition concerns a managed deployment route for developers.

What remains unconfirmed

The original posts provide no complete plan eligibility table, regional schedule or backend verification. The screenshots alone also cannot measure response quality, speed or differences between the available modes. Users seeing the new labels should check their own accountโ€™s available modes and allowance details before relying on broader rollout claims.

For now, the supported conclusion is narrow and useful. Grok 4.7 labels have been documented in reported Expert and Heavy consumer interfaces, while the scope of access remains unconfirmed.
